Partner Organisations

There are many organizations working to build solidarity between Canadians and Kenyans. Here's a few with whom we are proud to work closely.

Comfort the Children International

CTC is based in Austin, Texas and Maai Mahiu, Kenya. Rafiki Link is a major portion of the CTC education programs, part of CTC's holistic approach to community development in Maai Mahiu. CTC administers funds, takes care of Rafiki Link equipment, and liaises directly with staff, students, and partners in Kenya.

Bodwell High School

The school where this linkage began! Bodwell has sent 5 students and 2 staff to Kenya in Summer 2007; sponsored 3 students to enter grade 9 in February 2008; sponsored 1 staff to Kenya in Summer 2008; sent 10 students and 2 staff to Kenya in April 2009.

Project Kenya Sister Schools

PKSS is a similar sister-school program, based around a conservancy in northern Kenya. PKSS welcomes new schools to join in fundraising for schools in Kenya.

Education Beyond Borders

An important Canadian NGO with projects in South Africa and in Kenya. The first teaching delegation visited Maai Mahiu, Kenya in summer 2008, in partnership with CTC International. Canadian teacher-trainers returned in summer 2009 to do workshops in several Kenyan districts, and will conduct workshops again in 2010. Rafiki Link teachers have been involved in each year of the Education Beyond Borders workshops.
